Obituary for David Shetler
David Edward Shetler, 64, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of Golconda, Illinois, was called home to be with the Lord on Father's Day, June 17, 2012. He was a loving and devoted father, husband, brother, son and grandfather. David was born December 6, 1947 to Linda Lou (Brown) Shetler and Arthur Shetler in Golconda, Illinois. He was a 1966 graduate of Pope County High School and was in the Navy until going to work for TVA, where he retired in 2001. He was an avid Nascar fan.  David enjoyed life to the fullest and had many plans for the future, including meeting his new grandchild in November. David is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Loretta Jean (Lampert) Shetler of Paducah, daughter Sherri Diane Shetler Goins and husband Jody Goins of Paducah; David Joseph Shetler and wife Erin Shetler of St. Louis, Missouri; and three grandchildren: Justin and Jessa Goins of Paducah, and one grandchild (Joey & Erin Shetler) due in November; his mother Linda Lou (Brown) Shetler; one brother Ronald Eugene Shetler and his wife Pat Shetler; his aunt Marie Shetler Walker; and his best friend, Darrell Ingram. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Edward Shetler. He will be forever missed by his family and loved ones who cherished him. A celebration of David's life will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday, June 20th, at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9am until time of service. Burial will follow in IOOF cemetery.Â
