Obituary for Delbert Shults
Delbert Shults, age 77, of Golconda, IL passed away November 17, 2021 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehab in Metropolis, IL.
Delbert was born August 5, 1944 to Loyd Earl and Willie Lavania (Hurn) Shults on August 5, 1944 in Lawrenceburg, TN. Delbert could fix anything and had a unique talent for developing machining processes, completing projects for a variety of purposes within the heavy equipment industry, medical industry and US military. He dedicated his life to the study and teaching of the Bible, serving as Sunday school teacher, missionary church-planter, pastor and Bible college instructor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Judy (Campbell) Shults of Golconda, IL; nine children, Christine (John) Luebbers of Peoria, IL, Dawn Shults of Golconda, IL, Tonya Shults of Golconda, IL, Steven (Elizabeth) Shults of Cunningham, KY, Jason (Joy) Shults of Washington, IL, Connor Shults of Golconda, IL, Reagan Shell of Golconda, IL, Sophia Shell of Golconda, IL, Cooper Shults of Golconda, IL; ten grandchildren, Keith Smith of Peoria, IL, Alex Smith of Peoria, IL, Megan Helms of Vienna, IL, Angelia Helms, Metropolis, IL, Joshua Helms of Colorado, Chekote Helms of Golconda, IL, Gavin Helms of Washington, IN, Canija Shults of Washington, IL, Cora Shults of Washington, IL, Maya Shults of Washington, IL; four great grandchildren; nine siblings, Jeanetta Cooper of Dunlap, IL, Dorothy Bundy of Dunlap, IL, Brenda Gerard of Dunlap, IL, Troy (Linda) Shults of Danville, IL, Loyd (Becky) Shults of Ridgeway, IL, Jacque (Jim) Sharpe of Pekin, IL, Karen (Jim) Kupferer, Kankakee, IL, Brian (Aggie) Shults of Golconda, IL, Karl Taylor of Fairfield, IL.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Don Shults and Kevin Shults.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. Pastor Steven Shults and Pastor Jason Shults will conduct the service. Visitation will begin at noon until time of service. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery in Golconda, IL.
