Obituary for Harold Wayne Woods
Harold Wayne Woods, age 79, of Golconda, IL passed away April 3, 2021 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
Harold was born March 22, 1942 to the late Lawrence and Lois (Yates) Woods in Anna, IL. During his lifetime Harold worked many different jobs and retired as a Correctional Officer from the Vienna Correctional Center located in Vienna, IL. Harold cared for a great array of animals throughout the years including chickens, guineas, ducks, dogs and even peacocks. Harold loved western movies and it was almost a guarantee that one would be playing on his television if you stopped to visit, even if it was one he had already seen numerous times. Harold’s love for his family was very evident to anyone who met him.
Harold is survived by one son, Bradley (Karen) Woods; three step-children, Mary Stafford, Beth (Bobby) Williamson, Alex (Maureen) Stafford; four brothers, Ray Woods, Kenneth Woods, Carl Woods, Gene Woods; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Chrissy, Jason, Josh, Jamie, Wesley, Kyle, Kent, Jasmin and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Dorris (Baker) Woods, Virginia (Bates) Woods; son, Steve Woods; three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Aly funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. Brother Roy Lee Baker will conduct the service. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Those attending are reminded to observe customarily accepted social distancing guidelines. The wearing of a face mask is required for the health of family and friends.
