Obituary for James Ronald "Ronnie" Walker
James Ronald “Ronnie” Walker, age 75, of Brookport passed away April 29, 2020 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehab in Mt. Vernon, IN. Ronnie was born November 23, 1944 to the late Henry Dallas and Ophelia (Taber) Walker in Carrsville, KY. He was a Vietnam U.S. ARMY Veteran. He worked as a surveyor for the U.S. Forest Service. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hiking, canoeing, and hunting. Ronnie passion was training quarter horses; he trained them in several states. He also loved to sing and play guitar. Ronnie is survived by five brothers; Kenneth (Sherry) Walker of Brookport, Illinois, Eugene Walker, Bennie (Judy) Walker, Phillip Walker, all of Golconda Illinois and three sisters, Mary Evelyn Travis, Wanda (Raliegh) Hobbs and Frances (Gene) Floyd of Golconda, Illinois; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leon Walker, Jerry Walker; sister, Donna Barger; brother-in-law, Donald Travis; two sisters-in-law, Loris Walker, Maxine Walker; niece, Helen Walker Coleson. Private Graveside service will be held on May 2, 2020 at Palestine Cemetery, Golconda, Illinois.
