Obituary for Sheila Louise Palmer
Sheila Louise (Amos) Palmer, age 82, of Eddyville, IL passed away June 16, 2018 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
Sheila was born June 10, 1936 in Charlotte, MI to James Wafford Amos and Edna Louise (Fisher) Amos. Sheila was the youngest of three children. Her brother, James Amos, of Florida preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister , Joyce (Jack) Selburg of Michigan.
Sheila was married to Darris D. Palmer of Eddyville, IL on January 29, 1955 in Elgin, IL, he survives.
Sheila and Darris had three children all of whom survive her, Cynthia Joy (Palmer) Hall married to the late Kenneth Hall, Sandra Sue (Palmer) Richards married to Larry Richards, Darise Denee (Palmer) Cullum married to Eddy Cullum. Sheila is also survived by six grandchildren, Heidi (Richards) Parrott and husband Justin, Kenneth “Michael” Hall and wife Jessi, Joshua Hall and wife Mikki, Cecily Cullum, Zachary Cullum and wife Amanda, Katelyn Hall; seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth Morse, Joshua “Wyatt” Hall, Avery Parrott, James Hall, Colby Parrott, Keegan Cullum, Layken Cullum; seven nieces and nephews.
Sheila enjoyed traveling especially to her native state, Michigan, spending time with family and friends around one of the many lakes. Sheila loved playing cards and board games with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her stain glass projects she completed. Sheila enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions and shopping. She loved afternoon drives throughout Southern Illinois, Sunday dinners and in her latter years watching and identifying every bird that came to her feeders and spending time with her faithful companion, Ace.
Sheila loved to watch her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren set goals and celebrated each of their accomplishments. She kept a close eye on her “flock” despite her declining health.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at New Home Cemetery in Eddyville, IL. Bro. Kevin Richerson will be officiating.
