Obituary for Norman Ledbetter
Norman Ledbetter, age 91 of Golconda, passed away December 20, 2012 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Norman was born January 22, 1921 in Hardin County to Otto and Junie (Rose) Ledbetter. He married Helen Vaughn on January 27, 1950. He is a U.S. ARMY WWII veteran. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and received many decorations and citations including three Bronze Stars. Norman was a lifelong carpenter and member of Carpenters Union Local 272 Chicago Heights, IL. He was a foreman for EJ Albright Construction. He was a member of Union Social Brethren Church and loved the Lord. Norman is survived by his wife, Helen Ledbetter; five children, Phyllis Hammonds of TN, Vickey and husband John Plumley of IL, Tim and wife Debbie Ledbetter, Ruth and husband Anthony Nelson, Martha Sandefur all of TN; one sister, Helen Ralph of IL; eleven grandsons, eleven granddaughters, twelve great grandsons, nine, great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Goolsby, Faye Wilbanks; twin brother, Nolen; brother, Gene.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday December 22, 2012 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Interment will follow at Rose Cemetery near Eichorn. VFW Post 9227 and American Legion Post 719 will conduct military honors. Visitation will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
