Obituary for Kenneth Roy Hall

On October 29, 2014, Kenneth Roy Hall went to heaven at his home. Kenny was 63 years old and married to Cindy Palmer. He lived in Eddyville, Illinois all of his married life.
Kenny was born on April 22, 1951 to the late Donald and Pearl (Lane) Hall in Harrisburg, Illinois. He was the third child of four; Ann, Donnie, Kenny, and Martha. Kenny graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1969. He graduated from Southeastern Illinois College with an associate degree. Kenny married Cindy Palmer on May 14, 1977. They had three children; Kenneth Michael, Joshua Evan, and Katelyn Rose Ann. Kenny worked construction for a few years and then was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections at I.I.P. Dixon Springs. He retired in 2011 after 28 years of service.
Kenny was an avid horseback rider from early childhood up until his last trail ride in July of this year. This trail ride was a yearly tradition and family reunion. Kenny coached Khoury League ball for several years and later enjoyed watching the children of kids he had coached. He served as mayor of Eddyville for 1 term and was affectionately known as the “barefoot mayor.” Kenny was a supporter of 4-H and enjoyed watching and helping his children raise and show their 4-H animals. Kenny was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need but especially took an interest in the youth.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 37 ½ years, Cindy Hall; two sons, Kenneth Michael Hall and wife Jessi, Joshua Evan Hall and wife Mikki; daughter, Katelyn Rose Ann Hall; two grandsons, Joshua Wyatt and James Michael; sister, Ann Porter and husband Don; brother, Donnie Hall and wife Brenda; sister, Martha Hall; several nieces, nephews and their children.
Visitation will be held at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, Illinois from 6-8 pm on Saturday November 1, 2014. The funeral services will be held at Aly Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Sunday November 2, 2014. Rev. Roy Baker will conduct the service. Burial will follow the service at New Home Cemetery, Eddyville, Illinois.
