Obituary for John Anthony Bierman

John Anthony Bierman, age 69, of Freeburg IL, passed away April 11, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
He was born on February 17, 1947 to Norris and Gertrude (Tiny) Bierman in Duquoin. He retired from the United States Air Force as a captain, having served for 24 years as a personnel officer.  He also spent 17 1/2 years as a clerk for the USPS. John was an Eagle Scout, and had been a Cub Master, Boy Scout Leader, and Assistant Girl Scout Leader. John was an avid fisherman, who also loved camping and woodworking. John was happiest when he was with his family, and was a devoted husband, father, and papa. .
He is survived by his beloved wife, Renee Bierman; son, Jeff (Melissa) Bierman; daughters, Joanna (Clay) Welch, Brandi (Nate) Schlattweiler, Brittany (Stephen) Rothermich, Brianna Shipp, and Brooke Shipp. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, Bailey, Macey, Jack, Chloe, Wesley, Kyra, Harry, Ryder, Pyper, and Penny.  He is also survived by his brother, Tom (Donna) Bierman; niece, Sara (Tim) Condon; nephew, Nick (Ashley) Bierman, and his former spouse, Pam Bierman.
John was preceded in death by his parents
A Memorial service and military rites will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 16th at Glendale United Methodist Church, Glendale, Illinois.
John's family and loved ones invite those who knew him to join them in celebrating his life together on Sunday, April 17 during the hours of 11:30-2:30 at Cutter's 239 Carlyle Ave., Belleville, IL 62221.
