Joan Davis, age 78, of Golconda, IL passed away on December 1, 2022 at her home.
She was born on May 23, 1944 to John and Vivian (Bennett) Blanchard in Golconda, IL. She retired from Honeywell after 25 years of service. In retirement, she and her late husband, Dawson Davis, started a stepping stone business where she was able to use her many artistic talents. She was an avid flower gardener, bird watcher, and deer hunter.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Julie (Joe) Kappes; three stepchildren, Terry Davis, Timmy Davis, Tony (Rose) Davis; grandchildren, Jon (Ashlyn) Kilpatrick, Ben (Summer) Kilpatrick, Jackie Kappes (Dan Heeney), Wyndi Kappes, two bonus grandsons, Ronald and Eldrich Henley; nine step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sixteen step great grandchildren; sister, Karen (John) Okerson; brother, Ronald Blanchard; cousin, Phyllis Gibbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vivian (Bennett) Blanchard; her devoted husband of 20 years, Dawson Davis; step daughter, Tina Burnham; brother, Rodney Blanchard; special friend, Leland Bakehouse.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. Pastor Tom Emmerson will conduct the service. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
