Obituary for James Paul Hayden
James Paul Hayden, age 93, of Eichorn, IL passed away November 27, 2020 at his home.
Paul was born on March 10, 1927 to the late Arthur James and Lillie Ann (English) Hayden in Shetlerville, IL. He was a U.S. ARMY WWII veteran. He was a retired machinist. Paul was a member of the Community Chapel Church and worked a lot at the church helping anyway he could. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend. He repaired and sold equipment at his building located at Humm Wye. Paul loved his tractors. He enjoyed sitting on the porch with Margaret.
Paul is survived by his wife of 8 years, Margaret Hayden; one daughter, Barbara McCarthy of Pittsburg, IL; step daughter, Brenda (Charlie) Belt of Palmyra, MO; sister, Shirley (Chuck) Davis of Springfield, IL; 3 brothers, Jack (Beulah) Hayden, David Hayden, Dale Hayden all of Rosiclare, IL; nine grandchildren, Tina Morris, Sheila McCarthy, Scott Gillenwater, Christian, Rachel, Chuck, Mandi, Ansley, CJ; one great-grandson, Tyler Gillenwater; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 63 years, Juanita Vineyard; daughter, Carolyn Sue Novy; five sisters, Lorene Welchel, Ellen Smock, Betty Rushing, Ruby Lay, Mary Sue Miller; three brothers, Charlie Hayden, Earl “Bud” Hayden, Billy Hayden.
Visitation will be from 11 am – 1:00 pm on Wednesday December 2, 2020 at Community Chapel Church. Those attending the service are reminded to observe customarily accepted social distancing guidelines. The wearing of a face covering is strongly encouraged. Funeral service is private due to Covid 19 restrictions. The service will be conducted by Pastor Robert Turner. Interment will follow at Twitchell Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL with military honors conducted by Paul C. Rowan American Legion Post 571 of Rosiclare, IL.
A public “Celebration of Life” memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
