Obituary for Harold Hack Presser

Harold “Hack” Presser, age 87, of Golconda, Illinois passed away December 16, 2015 at Rosiclare Nursing and Rehab in Rosiclare, Illinois.
He was born December 5, 1928 in Uniontown, KY to Howard Alvin and Helen (Alvey) Presser. Hack married Audrey Markesbery on July 10, 1946 and she preceded him in death on July 21, 1974. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was a Fireman First Class and served on the USS Wisconsin. After the service he worked at Body by Fisher in Cincinnati, OH. He retired after 40 years from the Corp of Engineers working as a diver and assistant lockmaster. He was an avid basketball fan and loved the Kentucky Wildcats.
Hack is survived by his children, Christy Pierce, Curt Presser, LeAnna Leben, Doug Presser, Jan Dombrow, Matt Presser, Audi King, Shannon Baugher, Tyler Presser, Patrick Presser, Trent Baugher, Kirk Baugher, Gina Denton, Brett Baugher; 38 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; three brothers, Ronald Presser, David Presser, Larry Presser.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by, sons, Hack Presser, Jr., Christopher Baugher; three infant children, Kathy, Susan, Harold; sister, Mary Elizabeth “Sis”.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. The service will be conducted by Bro. Toby Williams. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 9227, American Legion Post 719, and U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Detail at the cemetery. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Elizabethtown, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
