Obituary for Gaylon Barger
Gaylon L. Barger, 82, died Sunday Oct. 7, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford, MS. He was born Oct. 19, 1929 to Claude and Dorcie Barger in Pope County, IL. He was a resident of Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War. He was a Mason, a retired crane operator, and a lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150. Survivors include four daughters, Carrie (Rolf) Rinehart and Nancy (Bob) Prather of Booneville, MS, Kathie Farnham of Booneville, MS, and Chuck Farnham of Brookhaven, and Melissa (Steven) Smith of Chelsea, AL; two sisters, Georgia Jackson and Linda Killingsworth of Eddyville, IL; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters; five sisters, Claudetta Barger, Lorene Murrie, Lillian Geisler, Mary Catherine Aly, Frances Cappeletti; and one brother, Wade Barger. Graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at Eddyville Cemetery in Eddyville, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 11:45 am prior to the service at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Â
