Obituary for Ewing Jackson

Ewing Jackson, age 92, of Eddyville, passed away on May 18, 2012 at Hardin County Hospital in Rosiclare, IL.

He was born on January 23, 1920 in Pope County to Perry and Sylvia (Burns) Jackson. He married Georgia Barger on August 17, 1941. Ewing served in the U.S. Navy for 29 months during World War II.

He raised beef cattle and for a number of years, raised feeder pigs. Ewing was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 672 AF&AM at Eddyville for 60 years. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and riding his three-wheeler over the farm to check on his cattle.

Ewing is survived by his wife of 70 years, Georgia Jackson of Eddyville; son, Edward Jackson of Eddyville; five grandchildren, John and Janice Wallace, Jennifer and Larry Caldwell, Jarod and Brooke Jackson, Megan and Kyle Orso, Jessica and Tommy Gottschalk; seven great grandchildren, Brady, Bailie, Alaina, Alec, Claire, Josie, Phillip.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, daughter, Sandra Wallace; granddaughter, Jacklyn; three brothers, an infant, Gene, Harold.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Old Home Cemetery Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until noon on Monday May 21, 2012 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville.
Masonic service will begin at noon with funeral service to follow. Burial with military honors will follow at the Old Home Cemetery near Eddyville.
Brother Kevin Richerson will conduct the services.
