Obituary for Eva May Wise
Eva May Wise, age 77, of Eddyville, Illinois passed away October 25, 2015 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. She was born on September 19, 1938 to the late Roy Franklin “Casey” and Grace (Friend) McDonald in Eddyville, IL. She married Elvon Wise on June 25, 1955. Eva May was known to the Eddyville Community as Granny Wise. She never met a stranger and welcomed all to the dinner table. She enjoyed visiting on her front porch, and watching hummingbirds, family gatherings on Sundays, and traveling, having visited 48 states. She collected Lighthouses. She was on a bowling league for 40 years. Eva May was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Over the years, Eva May worked at the Nationwide Glove Factory, Pope County Schools, Pope County Care Center, and retired from Millstone Water District. Eva May is survived by one daughter, Linda (Ron) Denbow of Benton, IL; two sons, Donnie (Martha) Wise of Eddyville, IL, Randall “Red” (Lysa) Wise of Eddyville, IL; daughter-in-law, Sara Wise; one sister, Mildred Belcher of Eddyville, IL; ten grandchildren, Michael Wise, Jordan Fly, Stephanie Palmer, Robert “Bob” Wise, Brittney (Ron) Pettit, Raven Denbow, Courtney Denbow, Krysta (Seth) Graves, Katie Wise, Kyle Wise; seven great grandchildren, Xavier Bramlett, Isaiah Bramlett, Donavon Grider, Teagan Pettit, Brileigh Wise, Chloe Adams, Kealey Wise; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvon Wise on December 10, 1997; parents; son, Ronald Dean Wise; brother, Leroy McDonald; grandson, Jacob Wise; great grandson, Knox Graves. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, Illinois. Rev. Gary Graves will conduct the service. Interment will follow the service at the Eddyville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the funeral home.
