Obituary for Donald Johnson

Donald Johnson, age 78, of Eddyville, Illinois passed away on October 14, 2017 in Carbondale, IL.
Donald was originally from Chicago, IL and a longtime resident of Carpentersville, IL then retired to Eddyville, IL. Don was born in Kansas City, MO to Theodore and Ollie (Case) Johnson. He was a U.S Navy veteran. Donald married Sally Rueth on January 9, 1960; she preceded him in death on February 14, 2009. Donald worked out of the Carpenters Local 839. Donald was a dedicated Boy Scout Leader and volunteer to the Carpentersville Lions Club. He loved camping and fishing. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was deeply loved by his family.
He is survived by two sons, Theodore and Shirley Johnson; Phillip Johnson; three daughters, Theresa Rice, Laura and Brian Schramm, Cynthia Johnson and Tina Garner; sister Shirley Johnson; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; girlfriend, Joelene Martin.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, and one brother.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am on Thursday October 19, 2017 at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL. The service will be conducted by Sally Ann Meeker. Interment will follow the service at Windridge Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Lions Club.
