Obituary for Darryl Glenn Smith
DARRYL GLENN SMITH Johnston City-Darryl Glenn Smith (Dee) 50 passed away on Sunday December 2, 2012 at 5:17 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born July 4, 1962 to Warner and Jewell Smith. He attended Johnston City High School. He married Deana Smith in 2010. He has 4 children. Kirk Smith, DeAnn (Sergey) Breslavets,, Justin (Jamie) Vaughn, Jessica (Jimmy) Wiseman. 4 grandchildren. Peyton, Graci, Paxton, and Tristen. Darryl was an I.B.E.W. Local 702 member since 1984. He was an electrician for SIU for 18 years. He was an US Army Veteran. He was President of the Southern Freedom A.B.A.T.E. for 7 years and was an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a member of the Buccaneer’s Club of Johnston City. Survivors include his Mother Jewell of Johnston City. 4 sisters; Jenell (Charles) Brookhouse, WF. Jan (William) Parks, JC. Geneva Walker, WF. Gloria Tanner, Marion. 2 brothers; David Richard (Janet) Smith, JC. Stephen Micheal (Joyce) Smith, Pittsburg. In-laws; Donald and Bonnie Barger. 2 Sister-in-laws; Gail (Duke) Lannon, Susanna (Philip) Duncan. Brother-in-law; Rick (Marla) Barger. Several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Deana, Father Warner Smith. 2 brothers; Jerrall Smith and Joel Smith. 2 Brother-in-laws; Deon Walker and Dwight Tanner. 2 Nephews; Dennis Smith, and Eron Smith. Charles Brookhouse officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W. American Legion and the Illinois Army National Guard. Memorials may be made to: Kirk Smith for Darry's grandchildren, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 7, 2012 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Burial will be in the #8 Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville and from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.
