Obituary for Curtis L Evitts
Curtis L. Evitts, age 95 of Glendale, Illinois passed away on June 29, 2019 at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah, Ky.
He was born February 11, 1924 to the late Lewis and Cressie (Jackson) Evitts in Pope County, IL. Curtis married Pauline (Gerhardt) Evitts in 1947 and she preceded him in death August 19, 2005. Curtis served in the U.S. Navy and was a WW II Veteran. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 318 for 66+ years.
Curtis is survived by son, CL (Ernestine) Evitts of Glendale, IL; daughter, Connie Wilson of Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren, Chris (Donna) Evitts of Carterville, IL, Chelle (Paschal) Kirby of Fort Worth, TX, Brian (April) Evitts of Henderson, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Casey Evitts, Alex Evitts and Kate Evitts of Carterville, IL, Lexi (Jeremiah) Ashbrook of Bloomindale, MI, Erica and Kelsey Evitts of Henderson, N.C., Peyton and Madison Kirby of Fort Worth, TX; three great-great grandchildren, Arion Evitts, Rowan Evitts, Theo Ashbrook; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline Evitts; four brothers, Jay Evitts, Leo Evitts, Whitnel Evitts, Walter Evitts.
Funeral service will be 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Glendale United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the service at the Glendale Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 9227 and American Legion Post 719 and the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Team. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service on Wednesday at the church.
