Obituary for Butch Beever

Elmo R. “Butch” Beever, age 70, of Golconda, IL passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, IL.
He was born on October 31, 1944 to the late Elmo E. and Hazel Juanita (Friesen) Beever in St. Clair County, Illinois. He married Patricia Eddleman on July 20, 1974.
Butch was a member of the Moose Lodge in East St. Louis. He retired from Operating Engineer Local 318. Butch was a Pope County Commissioner in the late 1970’s, worked at the Golconda Marina, was a dredge operator on the Ohio River. Butch was an early riser and would get the coffee started at the Sweetwater Saloon. Butch loved sports and people; he never met a stranger and was always willing to help friends. Butch will be missed by his many friends.
Butch is survived by his wife, Pat, of Golconda, IL; one son, Eric Beever of Golconda, IL; three daughters, Tisa Wheeler of Texas, Denise Holt of Missouri, Penny Beever of Golconda, IL; two brothers, Jack Beever of Dupo, IL, Larry Beever of Golconda, IL; three sisters, Jean Myrick of St. Ann, MO, Barbara Kentch of Festus, MO, Ellen Cruce of Highland, IL; six grandchildren, Brent Friedman, Kayla Standfield, Lauren Boulden, Abby Holt, Eric Holt, Harlea Beever; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Stanfied; six sisters, Janet Johnston, Roseann Beever, Rose Marie Beever, Juanita Huddleston, Dixie Beever, Sandra Kassly; two brothers, Gary Beever, Doug Beever.
Memorial services will 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Brother Kevin Richerson will conduct the service.
