Obituary for Betty Lou Owens

Betty Lou Owens, age 80, of Eddyville, IL, passed away, April 24, 2013 at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, IL.
She was born on July 29, 1932 to Harry “Burt” and Verba (Gullett) Palmer in Eddyville, IL. She married Edward “Bud” Owens on December 25, 1948; he preceded her on June 11, 2009. She was a member of Eddyville Missionary Baptist Church. Betty Lou loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, flowers, singing, needlework, quilting, being out and about, collecting angels and plates, and her dog Frankie. She had worked at the Heritage House in Vienna and the Pope County Care Center in Golconda.
Betty is survived by one son, Russell Owens of Eddyville, IL; three daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Miller of Simpson, Marilyn (John) Wallace of Junction, Becky Stafford of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Michele (Donnie) Wiltermood, Theresa Owens, Amity (Krist) Thodoropoulos, Jessi (Mike) Hall, Heather (Todd) Goodson, Kalika Miller, Zeb (Erica) Miller; great grandchildren, Josh Wiltermood, Tiffany Wiltermood, Tyler Wiltermood, Ali Goodson, Mason Goodson, Ezra Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Karen Owens; one grandson, Caleb Miller; three brothers, Bob Palmer, Hamie Palmer, Thomas Palmer.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday April 27, 2013 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday April 28, 2013 at Eddyville Missionary Baptist Church in Eddyville.

Burial will follow the service at Eddyville Cemetery.
